Privacy Policy

The short version

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are never sent to a server, logged, or shared.

No analytics software is installed on this site, and no advertising is currently served. When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense may also set advertising cookies, as described below. There are no user accounts on this site.

How the calculators process information

All calculations — quilt backing panels and yardage, diagonal backing lengths, batting sizes, binding strips, border lengths, sashing pieces, block counts, quilt sizes, and half-square triangle cut sizes — are performed by JavaScript running locally in your browser. Calculator inputs (quilt dimensions, fabric widths, block counts, and every other value you type) are never transmitted anywhere, never stored, and are gone when you close the page.

Hosting

This site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like essentially all web hosts, Cloudflare processes technical request logs (such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamps) to deliver pages, protect against abuse, and operate its service. This site does not receive or store individualized logs of your visit beyond what Cloudflare provides in aggregate.

Analytics

No analytics software is installed on this site, and there is no advertising. If analytics is ever added, this section will describe exactly what is collected before it goes live.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies, and because no analytics or advertising is currently installed, no analytics or advertising cookies are set either. If advertising is enabled in future, the advertising section below explains the additional cookies that may then appear. The calculators themselves do not use cookies or browser storage — nothing you enter is saved between visits.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

When advertising is enabled on this site, Google AdSense may serve ads and set advertising cookies (for example, to personalize ads and measure their performance). Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's advertising policy pages. If ads are not enabled, no advertising cookies are set.

Error-report form

The Report an Error form runs entirely in your browser. When you submit it, the form composes an email addressed to the site owner containing the details you entered — either opening it in your own email app, or showing you the composed report to copy and send yourself. Nothing is submitted to a server by the form, and no email is sent unless you send it.

Your rights

Very little personal information exists here to have rights over — but what exists is yours. The only information this site can hold about you is what you send yourself: an email, or an error report you chose to send. You may ask the data controller (named in the Contact section below) what correspondence of yours is held, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted; deletion requests for email and error-report correspondence are honored. Analytics data works differently: where analytics is enabled, Google Analytics sets a cookie holding a random, pseudonymous client ID (see the Cookies section above). The reports this site sees from it are aggregate only, the ID is not your name or an account, and it is never combined with anything you send by email or error report — but it is still an identifier, so if you would rather it were not stored, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's analytics opt-out, at any time. And calculator inputs never leave your browser at all.

The data controller for this website is the site owner, Ian Welkins. If you email [email protected], the address and content you send go to the site owner. They are used only to read and reply to your message, are not added to any mailing list, and are not shared with third parties.
